CLINICIAN BIOS

Jessica Glasgow

Jessica (Slabaugh) Glasgow is originally from Golden, Colorado, and resides in American Fork, Utah, and Canton, Ohio. Jessica was involved in music from a young age, performing in her high school marching band and serving as drum major. She was awarded several awards for her high achievement in music, including the John Philip Sousa Award, recognizing superior musicianship and outstanding dedication.

Jessica performed with several well-known winter guards and drum corps in college while studying Music Education and playing the French horn. She spent time developing and perfecting her skills with Crossmen Drum Corps, Imbue Winter Guard, Signature Winter Guard, and Alchemy Winter Guard. Jessica was also a performing member of the Oracle Performance Ensemble, a dance company from Denver, Colorado.

Jessica’s passion extends beyond performance. Since the early 2000s, she has impacted numerous high school programs across the nation. Her leadership has garnered impressive accolades—state championships, finals appearances in WGI and BOA national events, WGI medals, BOA regional championships, and Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade performances. Currently, she serves as the artistic director for several renowned high school programs including American Fork High School, Amador Valley High School, Davenport Central High School, Channelview High School, Maple Mountain High School, and many additional programs. Additionally, she holds the position as the Visual Coordinator at the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Jessica is a loving wife and mother. She cherishes spending quality time with her four wonderful children.

Swaga Deb

Swaga Deb: Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Swaga first started participating in marching band and pageantry activity in Junior High. Swaga continued performing through high school and into college where marched in the Concord Blue Devils World Winterguard as well as their Drum and Bugle Corp. After Swaga stopped performing with the Blue Devils, he went on to teach various guards around the country including: Homestead High School, Esperanza De Luz Winterguard/Drum Corp, Rancho Bernardo High School, Emanon Ind. Winterguard, Belmont High School, as well as many others. Currently Swaga judges for various marching band/pageantry circuits around the country. When not participating in pageantry activities Swaga is an executive producer for various cable network shows. He's worked for multiple networks including Bravo, Netflix, WE, OWN, Lifetime, Logo, TLC, Sundance Channel, and E! Entertainment.

Phil Madden

Phil Madden resides in Portland, Oregon and is a design architect specializing in aviation, military and educational design. Phil has been an instructor and an adjudicator for pageantry events for over thirty years. In the past he has served as the Chief Judge, World Class Administrator, General Effect and Ensemble Coordinator for WGI. He was the adjunct Chief Judge with Bands of America and also served for five years as the Visual Judging Coordinator for Drum Corps International. He is involved in teaching, planning and writing programs for college and high school marching bands, drum and bugle corps and winter guards. Phil’s pageantry resume includes initiating the winter guard program for James Logan High School as well as many winter programs that include the Seattle Cascades, Seattle Buddhist Scouts and the East Allegheny Visual Ensemble. He has also served as the Visual Coordinator for the Capital Regiment, San Jose Raiders, Valley Fever and Seattle Cascades drum corps. He holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Architecture with a minor in Studio Arts and History from the University of Pittsburgh and a Masters of Architecture degree from Virginia Polytechnic and State University.

  • No food or drink will be allowed in the gym
  • WGAZ recommends fans to arrive 30 minutes before scheduled performance times
  • Schedule is subject to change
  • As safety is paramount to all performers, any type of flash photography is strictly prohibited. Family, friends and fans may take still photos of WGAZ events for personal use only. Small, non-professional, single frame “point & shoot” cameras are allowed into all venues. Any camera that has a detachable lens or lens that extends to four (4) or more inches is considered a “Professional Camera” and thus prohibited.
  • There is no video recording permitted at any WGAZ event. Any liability associated with unauthorized recordings will rest with the individual or organization making the recording. WGAZ does not condone, nor accept any liability for, any unauthorized recording during the event.
